Pros and Cons of Fifth Wheel Towing with 4x4 or 4x2 Truck

What are the pros and cons for pulling a 5th wheel with a 2500 truck 4 x2 versus 4 x 4

Typically a 4x2 truck will have slightly higher towing capacities. Usually by around 500 lbs (the weight difference that the 4x4 hardware adds), but if you ever would find yourself in snow or mud you are going to want to have 4 wheel drive.

4x2 trucks typically get better fuel mileage as well since the truck is turning the front 4WD components.
