2017 Ram 2500 Short Bed Air Suspension and OEM 5th Wheel Towing Prep Hitch Recommendation

Hello! I will soon be ordering a 2017 Dodge Ram 2500 Mega Cab, 6.7L Cummins, 6 ft. bed, with air suspension and OEM 5th wheel towing prep. I am also considering a 2016 Keystone Montana 35 ft. or a camper with a dry weight of around 12,000 lbs. I am looking to purchase the Demco 5th Wheel Rail Adapter DM6099 and Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch DM8550034. Will this combination work together with the prep group, and most importantly, work with the air suspension or do I need to make changes to my truck order/Demco equipment?

As long as you order the 2017 Ram with the factory rail kit it's not going to matter what suspension you end up using as the rail kit will be installed on the truck. The suspension makes a difference for when you have to install a rail kit on the truck, but if the truck comes with a rail kit that issue is already taken care of.

To use the Demco Hijacker part # DM8550034 you would just need to use the Ram adapter part # DM6099 that you referenced. The truck and this hitch would have more than enough capacity too.

I really like the Demco Hijacker as it automatically slides back when you make tight turns so you don't have to get out and manually do it so I highly recommend it for you.
