Installing Additional LED Taillights On 2012 KZ Spree Escape Camper to Clear Bikes on Bike Rack

Question:

ce86FR led taillights. We have a 2012 14foot KZ spree escape travel trailer. Its tail lites are dim and partly obscured by our bikes when they are on the back of the trailer. I would like to install the above lites at a higher location on the trailer to clear the bikes and provide brighter led lites for safety. Can I leave the stock lites operable and simply wire from the old lites to the new lites and have them operate in tandem? And, is there a rule as to how high off the pavement tail lights must be? The Command Electronics Dual LED, Surface Mount Tail Light # CE86FR will work well for you to add additional taillights on the back of your KZ Spree Escape. You can leave the stock taillights installed in the existing location on the trailer and add the # 47-84-610 further up the back of the camper so they clear the bikes. Since these Bargman taillights are LED lights and draw minimal power, we don't have any concerns about too much of a power draw on the system.

We are not aware of any rules regarding the height of the taillights above the ground. For adding the additional taillights, I recommend mounting them just higher than the top of the bikes when they are loaded on your camper. This will allow the taillights to be easily seen without them being too high up on the trailer as to be confusing for other drivers on the road.
