With the bikes removed and the support pole down and tilted or not tilted will the back doors of the van be able to open completely.

With the bikes removed and the arm uprights folded down on Hollywood Racks bike rack and cargo carrier # HR1450Z-85 you will be able to open the rear barn doors on your 2016 Mercedes Sprinter. It may also work with the uprights in the up position but it depends on the position of the trailer hitch and how much clearance it can provide.
