I contacted our representative at Draw-Tite, and he informed me that the Hi-Rise Gooseneck to Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch, part # 9480, is not compatible with your Remov-A-Ball Gooseneck Hitch because the Draw-Tite and Reese Remov-A-Ball Gooseneck hitches are plate style hitches.

A plate style Gooseneck Hitch has an above the bed plate in the truck bed and a sliding pin that will interfere with mounting part # 9480. Any of the other below the bed gooseneck hitches that do not have the plate above the bed and are not an older model Draw-Tite or Reese Hitches are compatible with the Hi-Rise Gooseneck to Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch, part # 9480.

What you can do to use your gooseneck hitch to pull a fifth wheel is to use a fifth-wheel to gooseneck adapter, such as part # CAB-C5G.

To determine which fifth-wheel to gooseneck adapter you will need for your 1998 Chevrolet Pickup, you will need to make a measurement. Make sure the fifth wheel is on level ground, and back your truck up into position as if you were going to haul your fifth wheel. Then measure from the bottom of pin box to the top of the hitch ball in the bed of your truck. The measurement you get will be the size of the adapter you will need for your towing setup.

I have linked a video review of a fifth-wheel to gooseneck trailer coupler below.
