Is it Normal For Strait-Line Weight Distribution Arms to Point Out Slightly When New

Question:

Hello, I purchased a Reese Dual Cam WD hitch in March from E-Trailer. I am having a problem with it all set up. It is set up and adjusted but I have noticed that the cam arms appear to come down from the frame at a bit of an angle outwards / \ sort of like that. This causes the spring bars not to sit flat the indent of them on the cams. Is this normal or is there something I am missing here? It almost would seem like the cam arms/brackets are bent out..... Thanks,

I spoke with my contact at Reese and he said that what you described is normal when the system is new.

The reason for this is due to the variations in A-frame trailer proportions. The inside edge of the cam will wear-in over time so that it sits flush and the arms won't stick out as far.
