Pro Series Weight Distribution System Recommendation for 2007 Nissan Titan Towing 6k Trailer

Question:

Good evening, I had a question about getting a weight distribution anti sway set up for my truck. Im new to the travel trailer world but we are looking at getting at travel trailer that has an empty weight of 6000. I was looking at the Pro Series Weight Distribution System w/ Friction Sway Control - Round - 10,000 lbs GTW, 550 lbs TW but I have a 2007 Nissan titan with the tow package and a 4 inch lift. I was concerned that I would need a different set up to accommodate the lift. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thank you,

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.

For a trailer that weighs 6000 lbs your tongue weight would most likely be between 600 and 900 lbs so you would need # 49570 instead as it has a tongue weight range of 700 to 1,200 lbs which would be about right for your trailer once loaded. The shank of this kit can do up to 6 inches of rise. If you needed one with more than that you would need to replace the shank with part # RP3215 which can do up to 11-1/2 inches of rise.
