How to Mount Yakima Forklift on a 2014 Subaru Outback and Allow Rear Hatch to Open

Question:

I have heard that the Forklift Yakima roof rack will fit my factory bars on my 2014 Subaru Outback. But, I have also heard that the Forklift is so long that you cant raise the hatchback all the way up when the racks are mounted? Is that the case? If so, are there any other options? I want to use a fork mount roof rack for my road bikes. I have a hitch mount 1UP for my mnt bikes but if I carry all my bikes I need a roof rack as well. Any info and/or recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks,

The great thing about the Yakima ForkLift Roof Mounted Bike Carrier # Y02098 that you referenced is that if needed you can mount it backwards which would give you the needed clearance to allow the rear hatch to open up.

I attached a demo video that shows this bike rack being used on a similar 2011 Outback as yours.
