What Does Tow Mode Switch Do On 2004 GMC Sierra

Question:

What does this feature do? Does it control the transmission?

The tow mode switch on your shifter is designed to change the shift points of the transmission and makes the shifting a little quicker and harder and it is recommended that it be on when towing a trailer. It will downshift faster when going up a hill when towing and will use engine braking when going downhill.

A transmission cooler like the Derale Combination Transmission and Engine Oil Cooler, part # D15902 serves two purposes.

It is divided in to two sections. It has and inlet and an outgoing adapter for the transmission coolant, and also has an inlet and outgoing adapters for the engine oil. This cooler helps engine performance by cooling both engine and transmission oil. The cooler comes with multiple thread options to make sure you have the right size for your Tahoe.
