How does the SportRack Vista XL Box Latch

Question:

How does the SportRack box latch? It appears there is just one latch with a lock in the back. Is there anything that draws the lid down to the bottom any where else on box in case it is slightly over stuffed?

I spoke to my contact at SportRack and found that the front of the SportRack Vista XL Cargo Box, item # SR7018, closes using the two hinged arms that support the box lid when open. There is no attachment at the front and the lid is held down by the hinged arms when closed, then secured with the lock at the back of the cargo box.

I would not recommend over stuffing any cargo box because it would cause a gap for water and road grime to enter the box and get on the contents.
