Bike Rack Recommendation for Carrying Small Childrens Bikes with 2013 Toyota Sienna

Question:

I have a 2013 Toyota Sienna that I am putting a hitch on. I am looking for a hitch-mounted bike rack that can carry my bike and my sonsfoot 20 inch and 16 inch bikes with minimal problems. Suggestions for reasonably priced options? I was looking at the Thule Hitching Post Pro # TH934XTR. Also, the 20 inch bike is a Diamondback Viper Jr. with 20-inch wheels. The top tube is angled, but I dont know if it is TOO angled to work as is, or if I need an adapter bar. Also, would an adapter bar even work on a bike as small as 16 inches?

A 16 inch bike is small and the best option as far as a bike rack is going to be a platform style rack like # HR1400Z. A hanging bike rack wouldn't fit the small frame even with an adapter bar. You will need to add Kids Bike Wheel Hoop Adapters, # HRSW-ADP-2, in order to carry the 16 inch bike in the rack.

The adapters will prevent the tires on the bike from going too far into the hoops on the rack. I have linked a video review and the instructions for you for the bike rack. Out of the bike rack options I think this one is the best choice for you.

For a hitch you then would want the Draw Tite part # 75237 which is a Class III hitch confirmed as a fit.
