Available Tires for 14-1/2-Inch Rims

Question:

HELP: I have a trailer w/ new axle rear end. The wheels have a big hole in the middle like VW bug and L shaped nuts go on it. I need two trailer tires14 1/2 inch tires. I cannot use a tire thats designed for one use only. Can you help me? P.S. the tires seem OK, but they lose air. Do you have a tube I could install in both tires? I understand the tires take 90 psi or so!

We offer two tires for 14-1/2-inch stud-piloted rims that you can see by clicking on the link provided. These are both bias ply type mobile home tires in size 8-14.5 that are intended for only one use. We do not offer this tire size in a Special Trailer (ST) type tire that is capable of long-term use.

You can get special trailer tires on your trailer by using a different size wheel (with the same bolt pattern as your hubs) in either a 14-inch or 15-inch size. If you choose the larger 15-inch size be sure you have enough clearance around the tire. We recommend at least 3-inches of space between the top of the tire and the trailer/fender.

As an example, part # AM32680 from Kenda is a ST225/75R15 Radial Tire with 15-Inch White Spoke Wheel that has a 6-on-5-1/2 bolt pattern. This wheel/tire can handle up to 2830-lbs at its rated 80-psi inflation pressure. Its overall diameter is right around 28-1/2-inches when inflated.

Trailer tires should be replaced no less than every 6 years, regardless of mileage or tread depth. If there is no obvious dry rot on the tires and no damage to the rims the leaks could be due to bad valve stems. We do not offer tire tubes for trailer tires.
