How to Tighten or Remove the Ball Lock Pin on Rapid Hitch Adjustable, Aluminum Ball Mount # AM3461
Question:
I just received my 4inch hitch and cant put it together. I slipped the pin to lock the two ball unit and must have slipped it in backwards. Does the threaded hole go into the hole first... either way it protrudes out to far so it wont slide over the teeth assembly... Now I cant get the pin out ... I am totally upset and frustrated. There are NO instructions. what goes into the threaded hole, how do I get it out of the hole... Why is it protruding out to prevent the tooth assembly to slide on... Anderson ought to be ashamed... having NO instructions or pics on the box. Im very very unhappy with the purchase.

On the Rapid Hitch Adjustable, Aluminum Ball Mount # AM3461 there is that pin on the ball part of the assembly that has a threaded hole in it. That threaded hole should be visible when the pin is in there correctly. You can use a 1/4 inch screw or bolt to thread into that hole and then turn the pin so that it goes in further and clears the path for the larger pin that holds the ball portion to the shank.
Instructions are not included like you said. This includes the one that I was inspecting while researching the answer. That pin is supposed to already be installed properly but why yours was not I am not sure.
