Troubleshooting Trailer Running Light Circuit Not Functioning on 2014 Silverado LTZ

Question:

I need an adapter for for my truck/trailer with LED lights. I can only get brake lights and turn signals to operate on the trailer when connected to the 2014 . No running lights will operate. But, my 2004 Tahoe works all lights properly. Wondering if the 20142 will do the job. It has the standard 7 blade factory connector. If not what would you recommend?

Your 2014 Chevy Silverado should not need the adapter part # 20142 to allow the running lights to work. Your truck is not known for having LED trailer taillights cause issues. I would first try inspecting the trailer connector on your truck to see if you can find any corrosion on the running light circuit (11:00 position). While you are there turn on the headlights of your truck and use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test to see if voltage is on that circuit. If not, check the fuse box under your hood and replace any blown trailer wiring fuses.
