Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for a 2016 Ram 1500 5-1/2 ft Bed for Turning Clearance

Question:

I have a dodge ram with a 57 bed I would like to purchase a fifth wheel 1997 Jayco eagle 26 footer the question I have is will a slider hitch be all I need for clearance or will I need the sidewinder also dont know much about this and been all over the net I have seen it done but dont know how they did it any advice would be greatly appreciated

We have one slider hitch that has enough clearance to be used on a truck bed that is 5 foot 7 inches like what is on your 2016 Ram. For that you would want the Demco part # DM8550040 which will give you 22-1/2 inches of clearance.

The only other option would be a Sidewinder and a stationary hitch like the part # RP30081 that you referenced. I attached a help article on Sidewinders for you to check out as well.

For a rail kit you would then would want the part # DM8552030-71 which is a confirmed fit for your 2016 Ram 1500 short bed.
