Does Windshield have to Come Off to Replace a King Size Mattress in an RV
Question:
This might be a dumb question, but hear I go. How do I replace my king size mattress in my motorhome? I have heard stories about needing to take out the windshield to replace the mattress. Is that true? We have a sleep number, king size, mattress.....and hate it! We would like to replace, but frankly, dont know how to get a king size back in the motorhome. Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to provide.

With a foam mattress like # 195-000049 it will arrive rolled and compressed so you can take it in through the regular door on your RV and then it takes about 24 hours for it to fully regain shape. Getting your old mattress out is another story. With a king size sleep number it might have dual zones which means that it is actually 2 mattresses that you could get out through the door.
Otherwise if there is no other access point large enough on the RV then the windshield would have to come off!
