If you already have a Reese weight distribution system then really all you need is a shank that has the proper amount of drop for you to tow the trailer level. You can actually use Curt shank # 17120. It has a maximum drop of 6-1/8 inches if you have a round bar weight distribution system or a 5-3/4 inch drop when used with trunnion bar systems. A shank that gets you as close to 6 inches without going over will provide the best ground clearance.
If you are looking for a whole new system then trunnion bar systems will have the best ground clearance. To choose a weight distribution system you will need to go by the total tongue weight of the set up. This is calculated by taking the tongue weight of the trailer, when loaded and ready to tow, and adding to that the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle.
I have included some links on weight distribution for you.
