Does Curt Folding Aluminum Cargo Carrier # C18100 Have License Plate Mounting Holes, Does it Rattle

Question:

does this carrier have holes for attaching a license plate? Also, I intend to also purchase a silencing pin, but will the folding joint also rattle? Thanks

I spoke with my contact at Curt regarding the Folding, Aluminum Cargo Carrier, # C18100. She stated that there are no holes specifically for mounting a license plate. However, what can be done is to drill the necessary holes if needed. If any of the holes line up, you can use them for a license plate.

There will be some rattle or play at the folding bracket. It can be kept to a minimum with all the hardware installed and tightened properly. With any folding carrier, there will always be some play as the bracket is slightly larger than the shank to allow the carrier to fold up or down.

For an anti-rattle device and lock at the hitch, I recommend # SR25219. This give you the added protection of a locking hitch pin, with the benefit of an anti-rattle device. I have included a link below to a video showing a review featuring this product below.
