Where Does Fifth Wheel Hitch Install in bed of 1994 GMC 2500 with 8 foot Jacket
Question:
Where should the hitch be installed in respect to the axle in front of or behind the axle and by how many inches? Truck is a 1994 gmc 2500 8foot bed. Thank you.

In general you want to install a fifth wheel hitch either right above the rear axle center or slightly forward of it.
With the rail kit that comes with the # PS30128 the rearmost rail would be mounted so that the rear of the rail is 30-15/16 inches forward of the rear edge of the bed since your truck is an 8 foot bed. The king pin center will end up being right at 1-1/2 inches forward of the rear axle center.
