Why Would 7-Way Unplug While Towing with a 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500
Question:
Looking for a replacement trailer 7 and 4 pin connecter for my 2015 Silverado... The current connector door flips down causing the plug to become disconnected while driving.. Want one that flips up so it will hold the plug more securely. I really want it to fit the current location with out having to mount under the bumper frame. Seems GM Engineers cant this one as with the door flipping down I occasionally loose my trailer brakes. Worst case is I will take just a 7 pin and just continue to use the 7 pin to 4pin converter plug.

Are you sure you don't have a long enough trailer wiring harness? We haven't had any issues with 7-ways pulling out of the # HM40975 that is the same connector as what you have on your 2015 Chevy Silverado. That makes me think you just may have too short of a harness.
Plus, we don't offer a 7-way that will fit the opening on your vehicle that opens up instead of down.
For an 11 foot 7-way plug and lead you would want the part # HM20048.
