Fifth Wheel Hitch Rail Kit Recommendation Tow with a 2014 Ram 1500 5-1/2 ft Bed with Air Suspension  

Question:

HI, I have a 2014 Ram Eco Diesel, 4 wheel drive with 4 corner air suspension with the 5ft. 9 in. bed. I will be towing a 5th wheel primarily, but occasionally maybe a goose neck. What would you advice installing a gooseneck or 5th wheel. Do you have any recommendations for the hitch, as I am told I will need a slider hitch because I have a short bed truck. tks

There is one solution that will work for your truck. For your 2014 Ram 1500 ecodiesel with air suspension and a 5-1/2 foot bed you will need to start with the Turnoverball Gooseneck hitch part # BWGNRK1309 which is a confirmed fit.

From there you will need to install the X5 rail adapter part # 16310 so that you have a set of industry standard fifth wheel rails.

Now there is only one slider hitch available that will give you enough clearance to make tight turns and that is the # DM8550040 that will automatically give you 22-1/2 inches of clearance as you turn the truck.
