How to Increase the Weight Capacity of my 2008 Ford F 2-50 Super Duty
Question:
I have a Ford F250 super duty 6.4 diesel towing a 5th wheel 13K lb dry weight and I suspect that i am close to or exceeding the load weight capacity of the vehicle. Will an air compressor system help this? Other ideas?

According to the F-250 Super-Duty owners manual, You can tow up to 12,500 lbs. with the 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty depending on how it is equipped, so you may be over the load capacity for your truck which is dangerous to do. I recommend contacting your local Ford dealer with your vehicle identification number to verify the maximum towing capacity of your tuck before towing. Unfortunately adding suspension enhancement will not increase your truck's load capacity, however, it will aid in the quality of your ride and reduce sagging. We do not offer a product that will allow you to increase your weight carrying capacity so my best recommendation for you is to find a new towing vehicle.
If you are still interested in installing air bags, I recommend the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2550. This suspension enhancement kit will work with your 5th wheel hitch and will fit on your 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty. The airbags will help level your vehicle when towing your large trailer.
For an on-truck compressor, I recommend the Firestone Level Command II, # F2219. This compressor kit will allow you to inflate both air bags individually or simultaneously using the dual-gauge control from the vehicle cab. We have installed this compressor kit on a vehicle at our facility, so I attached a link to the installation video for you to check out.
I also attached an installation video of the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Springs on a 2008 Ford F-250 you may find helpful as well.
