Will Bike Adapter Bar Be Needed with Thule Spare Me 2 Bike Rack TH963PRO on 2006 Honda CR-V

I have a 2006 Honda CR-V and am considering purchasing this Thule rack TH963PRO. Will I need to purchase a separate extender bar to put my girlfriends bike on this rack, or simply use the adjustable holders and tie down her bike at an angle rather than parallel to the road?

Thule's Spare Me 2 Bike Rack # TH963PRO is a great choice for your 2006 Honda CR-V. This spare-tire-mount rack provides a 75-lb carrying capacity and includes a lock system to safeguard the rack and your loaded bikes.
The Spare Me's arms are spaced fairly widely at 17-1/2-inches outside-to-outside. If your ladyfriend's bike frame will not fit well on this arm spacing to provide safe ground clearance you can simply add the Ubar bike adapter bar # UB01 from Kuat. This attaches between the seat and handlebar posts to provide a horizontal mounting surface to keep such bikes level on the carrier. This ensures the best ground clearance.
