Bike Rack to Replace Rack that Drops Bikes

Question:

We own a hidden hitch valley model 9093 bike rack for 1 1/4inch hitch which looks to be the same as the swagman original S64152-2 for 3 bikes. Weve had problems with our bikes falling off when the wind catches the oval bike frame and causes it to slip right out of the clamped plates. Is there a replacement top plate that would better secure the bikes i.e. like the Sport rack replacelment top plate code SR050009? The top plate appears to fold down and may hold the bikes better if it would fit our current rack.

Honestly you are going to be best served by replacing your bike rack. We don't have any replacement parts that would fit your rack, and if the rack is allowing bikes to fall off I wouldn't sink any more money into a rack that unreliable.

For a bike rack that can fit 1-1/4 inch hitches and can carry up to 4 bikes the Thule Hitching Post Pro part # TH934XTR would be a great choice. We haven't had anyone report back and have any issues keeping the bikes on the rack.
