Can the Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera # HM50002 Install On a Vehicle without 7-Way
Question:
I have installed the HM50002 on my 2004 Toyota Tundra Limited. I was not able to use the plug since my plug does not come apart. I wired to the tail light and the monitor does not come on. What I should I do to get this working.

I attached an install video that shows the # HM50002 being installed on a vehicle that does not have a factory 7-way that would give you an idea on how the camera would need to install on your truck since it would require hardwiring.
It sounds like you ran the camera to the running light circuit which would mean the camera would come on with the running lights. You would want to run the camera to the reverse light circuit instead so that it comes in when in reverse.
