2016 Subaru Outback with Factory Hitch Bike Rack Recommendation
Question:
I just bought a 2016 Outback with a factory hitch. I have 1-1/8inch from pin centerline to edge of receiver face. I talked to Thule and they said no. What 2-bike rack can I use...with manufacturer approval? The distance from pin centerline to hitting something on the front end is 6inch approx. Bumper clearance from pin centerline is 2.

For your 2016 Subaru Forester with a factory hitch the Yakima Holdup part # Y02445 would be an excellent choice that we would highly recommend. This platform rack is one of the nicest on the market due how it will only touch the bikes you carry at the tires, it's relative light weight for a platform bike rack at 49 lbs.
The other thing is that Subaru factory 1-1/4 inch hitches have the pin hole very close to the hitch opening. This means that not all bike racks will fit the hitch well. The Yakima hitch racks are actually the same ones that Subaru recommends so we know they will fit and work well.
