How Can I Just Use the Ground In a Wiring Adapter For My 4-Way to 7-Way Adapter

Question:

Youve mentioned with this part that there are four wires outside of the 4 pole connections. White= Ground Blue = Trailer Break voltage. Black= 12 volt accessories. Purple= Trailer reverse lights. I dont want any of that stuff besides a ground, so is there a part that just has the 4 pole connections and a ground, or should i just cap those wires and forget about them. Thank you

You will be able to just use the ground with the Hopkins Adapter # 37185 which is found in our Universal Installation Kit # ETBC7. We do not have a version with just the ground, but you will be able to use this adapter and cap off the extra wires you will not be using.

If you are planning on installing a brake controller in the future, then you will just need to purchase a brake controller wiring kit # 5506.
