Truck Bed Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2016 Nissan Frontier with a Utili-Track

Question:

I used to have a 2000 Tacoma with the Topline 2 Bike Carrier Truck Bed Mounted Expandable Bike Rack. I now have a 2016 Nissan Frontier with utili track system. I dont think the topline is going to work. What do you suggest? I do not want to remove the front wheels and I really dont want the bikes hanging over the tail gate. ARe there any other options? Thanks

I have a recommendation for you, but you are correct, the Topline Bike Carrier will not fit on your 2016 Nissan Frontier. However, the Thule Insta-Gater # TH93VR will fit in your truck bed, and it is confirmed by Thule to fit your truck. This rack can only hold one bike, and if you wanted to bring another bike, you would have to get two Insta-Gaters for your needs.

Like the Topline 2 Carrier, this bike rack does not require you to remove the wheel. This rack quickly installs in your truck as no drilling or bolting is required for installation. Each Insta-Gater can hold up to 50 lbs. and holds bikes with a wheel size from 20" to 29".

Unfortunately this is the only frame-mounted rack we offer for your truck, but if you were wanting to go towards the fork mount, the RockyMounts LoBall # RKY1097 is a great choice. The rack mounts directly into your truck's Utili-Track System. The DriveShaft only holds one bike, but you can get one more to fit another bike in your bed. This rack also comes with integrated locks so when your bikes are unattended you can have peace of mind.

I attached review videos of the Insta-Gater and DriveShaft you may want to check out.
