Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Rack that Allows Rear Hatch to Open on a 2016 Honda Pilot
Question:
I have a 2016 Honda Pilot and found out the hard way that the Yakima Fourtimer doesnt tilt enough to allow access to my trunk. I have to remove the bike closest to my car, then tilt it. Will the Thule T2 tilt and allow me access to my trunk with both bikes attached? With the bikes off, and the rack tilted up, will the trunk open? Or do I need to the rack down first?

The Thule T2 bike rack # TH83JV will actually be a little closer to the back of your 2016 Honda Pilot that the Yakima FourTimer but not to worry because I have some excellent recommendations for you.
For a 4-bike rack that can tilt out or away far enough to allow you to open the rear hatch on your 2016 Honda Pilot you will need to look at specific hanging bike racks. For a model that will swing off to the side with or without bikes loaded you can use the Apex Swing # TH9027XT. I have linked a video review showing how it works.
Since these are hanging style racks if you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical men's bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # 64005. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance. I have linked a video showing how the adapter works.
