Base Plates, Safety Cables, and Light Kit to Flat Tow a 2006 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited

I have the tow bar for one Jeep and would like to purchase a set of backet where I could use it on another jeep. Where can I order the custom brackets and how.

I would be happy to point you to the correct base plates for your 2006 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited. You will need Roadmaster EZ4 Base Plate Kit # RM-521424-4 designed to fit your Jeep's double tube bumper. You will want to make sure that your tow bar is compatible with the EZ4 base plates.

To use the Tow Ready Adjustable Tow Bar, # 63180, that you have referenced, you will need the Roadmaster Base Plate to Tow Ready Tow Bar Adapter, # RM-025 for use with the above base plates. To make the XL brackets removable with this adapter, you will also need the Roadmaster Tow Bar Quick Disconnect Kit, # RM-201. Keep in mind that the Tow Ready tow bar is rated for towing speeds of 45 miles per hour or less.

You will also need safety cables and a light kit as required by law. For safety cables, I recommend the Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables, # RM-643. For a temporary lighting solution, use the Magnetic Towing Light Kit, # RM-2120. These lights have a magnet that will stick to a flat metal surface and plug into a 4-flat on the tow vehicle. For a more permanent solution, I recommend the Tail Light Isolating Diode System with Wiring Harness, # 38955. I have included an installation video and demonstration video of this kit below.

Finally, you will need to check with the manufacturer for instructions on the proper procedure for towing your vehicle because some vehicles must be equipped with a transmission lube pump, an axle disconnect, drive line disconnect, or free-wheeling hubs before they can be towed.
