Supplemental Braking System to Flat Tow a 2011 Ford Edge with or without Active Power Assist Brakes

Question:

I saw in that the RM9400 cannot be used with the Edges active power assist brake APAB, if this is true how can I determine if APAB are on my Edge Limited?

Expert Reply:

The easiest way to determine how your 2011 Ford Edge is equipped is to have a Ford dealer run the VIN number. If your Edge does have active power assist brakes then instead of using the Even Brake # RM-9400 you can use the Stay-IN-Play DUO # SM99251. This braking system is compatible with active power assist brakes. I have linked a video featuring the DUO for you.
