Radial or Bias Ply Tire for a Utility Trailer and Does Load Range Matter

Expert Reply:
Radial tires are the way to go if the trailer will be traveling on paved roads.
A radial tire flexes more than a bias tire, giving it better ground contact, traction, stability, and tread wear.
A radial tire will normally run cooler than a bias ply tire, especially when the tire is under a load. A tire that runs cooler will last longer.
A bias ply tire has a stiffer sidewall than a radial, a feature that might be useful for off road applications like farm use.
With the tire size that you see stamped on the sidewall of your trailer in mind check out the link I attached that shows all of the radial tires we offer.
Load Range has to do with the weight capacity of the tire. This will vary upon tire size though as not all Load Range C and Es are the same across sizes. Select the size you need and the correct tires will be listed.
