Adding a Functional 7-Way with Reverse Light Circuit to a 2004 Ford F-150

Question:

I recently purchased a boat with a breaking system. If I install part #118247 and add the included relay will that also add the necessary wiring to turn off the trailer brakes when the truck is in reverse? Thanks

If your 2004 Ford F-150 has a factory installed 4-Way trailer connector and you install 7-Way # 118247 and its relay (and all of the other tow package fuses/relays are in place) then you will have a fully functional 7-Way connector and the reverse light circuit will be active. This will then activate the reverse lockout solenoid that is on the boat trailer so the brakes won't engage when in reverse.
