Remote Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2001 Dodge Ram

Question:

Im looking to add a remote mount cooler under my bed, of my 2001 Dodge Ram cummins. I will still have the factory cooler installed, and will run the outlet line of that to the inlet of this derale cooler then the outlet back to trans. Im wondering if this cooler size will have a noticeable effect on trans temps. My temps when towing over the passes and highway are ok, it just when Im stuck in traffic or have to climb grades while still in traffic I need another source off cooling with a fan to keep temps down when not having ample airflow across the factory unit. Thanks.

The Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit w/ Fan # D13950 would actually be perfect for what you are looking for. The fan will provide the cooler with the needed air flow to reduce the temperatures and the plate and fin construction of this cooler makes it very efficient.

You would see a noticeable reduction in transmission fluid temps. You also would want to install this after the factory cooler to get maximum gains.
