Could 300 lb Scooter and Carrier Be Carried on a Hitch on a 2000 Lincoln LS

I have a 2000 Lincoln ls with a class 2 hitch is it safe to use a light weight scooter carrier and scooter if they weigh under 300 lbs combined weight

If the combined weight of the carrier and the scooter is under 300 lbs you could carry the setup on your 2000 Lincoln LS if you had a hitch like the Curt # C12253 installed which has a tongue weight capacity of 350 lbs. This assumes that your vehicle also has the same capacities as the hitch, which isn't always the case.
You would need to check the capacities in the owner's manual as well and be sure not to exceed these figures as well. The lower rating between the hitch and the vehicle would be the overall capacity, this is almost always the vehicle.
Otherwise, a small trailer would be your best option for your vehicle.
