Can Offset Fifth Wheel to Gooseneck Adapters Be Used with Offset Gooseneck Hitch Balls
Question:
Can a 4inch BandW offset ball be used in connection with the offset trailer coupler?
asked by: Chad
Expert Reply:
You cannot use an offset ball adapter # BWGNXA4085 with the Ranch Hitch Universal 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Coupler Adapter w/8" Offset # AM3139. Having multiple offsets ends up putting too much strain on the trailer and hitch.
The better choice would be the offset ball adapter though as it moves the pivot point back which helps more with turning clearance than the offset of the Ranch Hitch which only pushes the trailer back from wherever it is pivoting from.
The none-offset version of the Ranch Hitch is the part # AM3100 which can be used with the offset ball.
