Roof Cargo Box Recommendation for a 2014 Subaru Outback that Allows Rear Hatch to Open

Hi, Would the Yakima Roof Cargo Carrier - Y07335 fit on a 2014 Subaru Outback with factory cross bars and let the rear hatch open fully? 2014 is the year before Subaru include the power lift gate, so it doesnt have the feature that can set it to stop at any level. Thanks,

I checked with Yakima and the Skybox NX 16 part # Y95AV is a confirmed fit for the factory crossbars of your 2014 Subaru Outback. It will allow you to fully open your hatch.

To determine if the rear hatch would be able to open without interference you would need to measure from the center of the front crossbar back to the hatch seam. If that distance is more than 47 inches this box would clear the hatch.

For a box that requires less clearance we have the Rocketbox Pro # Y07192 which only requires 45 inches. I attached a video that shows this box being demoed on a similar Outback as yours and it cleared the hatch easily.
