Parts Needed and How to Install a P2 Brake Controller on a 2013 GMC Savanna Van with Tow Package
Question:
2013 GMC Savana 1500 AWD, parts to order for install Not sure what parts to order for install of P2 in my van. My van has a factory tow package with 7 pin connector at hitch.

On your 2013 GMC Savanna van with the factory 7-Way and tow package the blue output brake wire is already ran from the back of the vehicle to the front. It is located under the dash near the emergency brake pedal and will attach to the brake controller blue wire on the P2 # 90885.
The other wires from the brake controller will also need to be hardwired in. The white wire is ground and will need to be attached to the negative battery terminal. Black is ground and will connect to the positive battery terminal via a circuit breaker. For these connections I recommend wiring kit # 5506 and use the included 30-amp circuit breaker. This installation may require drilling a hole in the firewall to run the wires.
The last connection is the red wire. It connects to the brake switch wire that only has power when the brake pedal is pressed. It should be a white wire, but I recommend testing with a circuit tester, # PTW2993, first to be sure. I linked a video that should also help.
