Do Bike Pedals Have To Be Removed When Using Yakima RidgeBack Bike Carrier

Must the pedals be removed for the bike to be secured on the carrier.

When loading bikes on the Yakima RidgeBack 2 Bike Rack, part # Y02458, the pedals do not have to be removed on the bikes.
You can load the bikes facing different directions to avoid the pedals on the bikes interfering with each other but the pedals on the bikes will not pose a problem.
