Can a Ceiling Fan be Installed in Place of a Light

Question:

Can the ceiling light be removed and fan installed in its place?

It depends. There are mounting boxes for most celling lights and fans, such as # 277-000083, designed to support the weight of the fan or light. Some lights are not heavy enough to require the mounting box (which would be up above the ceiling and not visible unless the light/fan is removed). If you remove the light you have now and see a metal support structure that is box-shaped then yes, you could install a ceiling fan in place of a light.

As far as the electrical connections this particular fan uses 120 volt A/C power. If the wiring for the light is rated for the same then you would not have to run any new wiring.

The closest option we have is the 36" East Seventeen Hugger Style # 344410TSDC36BNOKCY with Cherry Blades. It is designed for 12V power but it's not available in White.
