I can help you with the set-up/adjustment procedure for the Pilot 2-6 Brake Electronic Brake Controller # 80550.
Once you have the trailer connected to the vehicle locate the slide knob and power knob (items A and B in the linked instructions' diagram). While applying the manual slide knob turn the power knob until the display reads 4.0. The drive tow vehicle and trailer on a dry level paved surface at 25 mph and apply manual slide knob.
If the trailer brakes lock up turn the power down using power knob. If braking was not sufficient turn power up using power knob. Repeat this process until power has been set to a point just below where wheels lock up.
As noted in the linked instructions you'll want to warm up the trailer brakes before making your power adjustments since warm brakes tend to be more responsive than cold brakes. You can also check that your trailer brakes are themselves adjusted properly. When you jack up the trailer and rotate a tire by hand you should hear and feel slight drag of the drum on the brake linings, but you should still be able to rotate the tire.
