Yakima Kayak Carrier Recommendation that Allow Kayak to Roll Up from Rear of Vehicle
Question:
2008 Subaru OB. I load my kayak from the rear of the car, sliding the bow into the rear cradle, then pushing the boat up and forward into the front cradle. The pads on this rack look like some sort of plastic. will my boat easily glide forward on the cradles? When the cradles are sitting in the hot sun, will they get sticky and make it impossible for me to load my boat by myself? Thanks.

I have a great solution for you, but based on how you like to load your kayaks the Yakima EvenKeel would not be the ideal choice.
For that you would want the Yakima SweetRoll part # Y04074 which is designed for loading in the exact way you like to. It has a roller built into the rear mounts to allow the kayak to roll up as you load it.
Check out the review video I attached as well.
