Can Halogen Bulb Lights be Converted to LED Type Bulbs
Question:
In general, can the halogen bulb be replaced with an LED bulb?

Bulb types can often be changed as long as there is a compatible equivalent version and so long as the new type does not cause fit or temperature issues. You could not go from an LED to a halogen since the waste heat generated by halogen bulbs is fairly substantial and far more than what an LED light's housing might tolerate.
The Pilot Bully Bumper Mount Backup Light # PL-807 uses a standard H3 type halogen bulb like # P250003W. We do offer halogen-to-LED upgrade bulb kits from Putco that enable you to convert these light to LED operation. LEDs use less power and generate much less heat than halogen or standard incandescent bulbs so in some applications they can be a real benefit. You would NOT want to use a halogen bulb in a light intended for another type of bulb since their heat would likely damage the light/lens.
However, you may prefer to simply select a new LED type backup light. For example, Optronics' # BUL35CB features 16 diodes. This any many other options can be seen on the linked page.
