Does Trailer Door Have to Set Flush with Jamb for the Lock Side-Door Assembly # 3057-55 to Install

Question:

Hello, I am looking to add this bar lock to a wells cargo side door. The door sticks out about 5/8inch past the jamb. Will this lock still work or will I need to shim it out with some sort of plate?

You would need a spacer of some type to allow the mounting brackets of the 55" Lock Side-Door Bar Lock Assembly # 3057-55 to sit flush with the door so that it could close and latch. Otherwise the latch wouldn't get around the door.

The best option would be something like the Cam-Action Lockable Door Latch Kit # 383200. It doesn't include the actual piping/bar so you would be able to source a bar with the proper offset to work with the trailer door. We don't have these available but you should be able to find something locally.
