When you install an aftermarket part on your vehicle, such as a trailer hitch, you are protected by the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act. This act states, in part, that unless the installation and the part caused a problem then the warranty cannot be voided just because you added a part to the car.
All of the 2-inch Class III hitches offered for your 2016 Acura MDX are bolt-on products that install using existing holes in the car's frame. No drilling, trimming or other permanent modifications are required. This is true for the Curt hitch # C13146 and for the other from etrailer. All can be seen on the link provided.
The entire installation process for the Curt hitch # C13146 is shown in the linked video. If you refer to the 1:50-minute mark you'll see our installer pointing out the three factory-installed weld nut fasteners on each side of the car's frame. As hitch installations go, this is a pretty easy one.
For a 4-pole wiring harness you can use kit # 118628 which offers easy plug-in installation.
