Trunk Mount Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2015 Subaru Outback with Rear Spoiler at Top of Hatch
Question:
Does the 2015 Subaru Outback Wagon Thule Passage 2 Bike Carrier - Trunk Mount TH910XT have clips that fit well on the door? The thin metal lip does not extend very far out from where the insulation starts. I tried my old bike rack, and the insulation gets in the way. The shorter leg if the L shaped clip is too long, and starts digging into the insulation, and doesnt really stick well, because the longer leg of the L clip is not close to being flush with the door.

The rear hatch and spoiler design on your 2015 Subaru Outback is similar to the one on the XV Crosstrek. I have linked a video showing the Passage # TH910XT on the Crosstrek. It does work but it is not the best option for a vehicle that has that rear spoiler piece like your Outback.
I recommend Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top rack # HRF2. This rack has an additional upper arm piece that moves the top straps up and over that spoiler so no weight is put on it (since the spoiler is not meant to support weight). I have included a link to a video that shows how it works.
If you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical men's bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # 64005. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance. I have linked a video showing how the adapter works.
