Setting Up SportRack Short Roof Adapter for a SportRack Roof Rack

Question:

We bought a SportRack Semi-Custom Roof Rack for Naked Roofs and in the packet that came with it and on the description on etrailer it says we may need the SportRack short-roof adapter SR1116, So we bought it. We have had no problems getting the roof rack in place however once we got the adapter in place and on the car it doesnt seem to fit. The part that is supposed to hook onto the car is way above the car. We have a 2011 Hyundai sonata.

The short roof adapter # SR1116 is not needed for the 2011 Hyundai Sonata. When I run the vehicle through our fit guide the SportRack roof rack that comes up is # SR1002 and the adapter is not listed as required or even recommended. We just have a note that states that it may be needed.

With this roof rack installed the crossbars will be 26 inches apart on center which is more than enough to not have to use the adapter.

But the reason that it is not fitting is actually because you need to use the rear foot clamps and parts on that bracket that currently is not reaching the vehicle roof. It then goes into the position where the rear foot normally would go and the rear crossbar and feet would be further back. I have linked the instructions for the short roof adapter # SR1116 for reference. Specifically, check out steps 6 and 7 as well as 9 for what it will look like.
