I spoke with my contact at Tekonsha about the problem you are having with the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller, # 90885, on your 2001 Ford F-250. He stated that you should check the black wire on the 3035 harness as that is the wire that provides power to the brake controller. If it is not receiving power, then there is a problem somewhere in the vehicle wiring. It could be a tow package fuse that is not installed or needs to be replaced. Your owners manual or power distribution box should have a diagram of fuse function and location.
For reference, on your truck, the red wire is the power wire and goes to the black wire on the brake controller. Light green is stop light and goes to the red wire on the brake controller. And white matches with white and blue matches with blue.
If all of the truck wiring checks out then there is a problem with the internal circuitry of the brake controller and it will need to be replaced.
