Adjusting Air Bag Pressure in Trailair Air Ride 5th Wheel Pin Box LC155943

Question:

I purchased the LC 155943 pin box and I am asking how many LBS of air do the air bags hold? And what is the requirement air pressure in the bags?

Helpful Expert Reply:

There is not one specific recommended pressure for the air bag in the Trailair Air Ride 5th Wheel Pin Box # LC155943. The bag's pressure can range from 20 to 120 psi depending on your situation. After some miles you'll likely find the sweet spot for your trailer.

Once the pin box is installed, hitch the trailer to the tow vehicle on level ground. There is a sticker on the front of the shock absorber on the pin box. You should inflate the air bag until the bottom lip of the top shroud on the shock absorber is even with the arrows on the decal. Please refer to the linked photo.

TrailAir states that keeping the trailer level is the most important factor, not necessarily the actual air pressure in the unit. The level ride may take more or less air pressure at different times depending on outside temperature.
