Troubleshooting Trailer Running Lights Not Functioning On a Trailer
Question:
03 Dodge RAM 3500 diesel 4x4 . today I was hooking up to my buddys new tilt deck trailer to go pick up a truck I hooked up and every light worked blinkers brake lights hazzards but the running lights would not come on. I hooked up to his box trailer and same problem could it be a bad 7 pin connector?

Try testing the running light pin of the connector on your Ram with a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to see if the problem is on the vehicle or the trailer. If the pin isn't active its most likely a blown fuse under the hood of the truck. It could also be that the pin is too corroded or dirty to function properly. You would want to try cleaning it with some fine grit sandpaper or wire brush.
